Northwest Olympia Homicide/Suicide Investigation

Murder-Suicide Investigation in Northwest Olympia

On Friday, November 16, 2018, at about 8:45 am, Olympia Police Department Patrol Officers were dispatched to the 2000 block of Cooper Crest St NW to investigate a suspicious circumstance. Someone from a private residence had called 911 and disconnected without saying anything.

Officers arrived on scene and found the residence locked and secured. However, by looking through a window, police officers saw evidence that a violent disturbance had occurred inside. Police Officers forced entry into the residence and found a 67-year-old woman lying in the kitchen of the residence deceased from a gunshot wound. Also inside of the residence, officers discovered a 66-year-old male in the bedroom deceased from a self-inflicted gunshot wound with a shotgun lying beside him. Olympia Police Department Detectives responded to the scene.

Through investigation, it was determined that the male shot and killed the female, shot and killed a family pet, then turned the weapon on himself. The man and woman were living together in a domestic relationship.

Anyone with information about this matter should call the Olympia Police Department Detective Division at 360.753.8300.
