Residential Structure Fire

Olympia Firefighters responded to a residential duplex structure fire in the 1100 block of Central St. NE at 6:40 pm, Friday evening, November 8, 2018.  The first engine arrived seven minutes later to find a two story house with heavy fire from the first and second floor of one of the units. The occupant of the fire unit was not home at the time the fire started, the resident in the adjoining unit was able to evacuate prior to the arrival of the fire department. The actions by the fire crews limited the fire damage to the unit of origin.

Fire Investigators have been called to the scene and are initiating an investigation. The fire and water damage is extensive to the fire unit. The buildings electrical has been disabled until it is determined that the remainder of the electrical system is safe. Initial property damage is estimated to be approximately $150,000.

Olympia Fire Department responded with three engines, one ladder truck, two medic units, one aid unit and a command unit. Lacey Fire District 3 responded with one engine but was released from the scene shortly after their arrival.
