Night Work on Martin Way

Martin Way Intersection Overlays Night Work Begins

Starting Wednesday, August 2, 2017, the City’s contractor will begin to grind and asphalt overlay the pavement on Martin Way at three intersections:  Lilly Road, Sleater-Kinney Road, and College Street (west side only). In order to reduce traffic impacts, this work will take place at night, between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

Schedule (weather dependent)

·       August 2, 3 & 4 - Utility castings work at all three intersections

·       August 7, 8 & 9 - Grinding the existing pavement at all three intersections

·       August 14, 15 & 16 - Asphalt paving the Lilly Road, Sleater-Kinney Road and College Street intersections

Potential Impacts

During grinding and paving work, construction will affect traffic flow on Martin Way and access to some businesses in the area. Travel lanes will be restricted through the intersections and motorists should expect delays. Traffic control & flaggers will direct vehicles and pedestrians through the work areas.

This project also included upgrading the curb access ramps to meet current ADA standards. This portion of the project has been completed. Overall project construction should be complete by the end of August 2017.
