Martin Way Intersection Overlays Project Begins

Starting Wednesday, July 5, 2017, construction begins on a project to grind and asphalt overlay the pavement on Martin Way at three intersections: Lilly Road, Sleater-Kinney Road, and College Street (west side only). In addition this project will upgrade curb access ramps to meet current ADA standards. Project construction should be complete by the end of August 2017.

Schedule (weather dependent)

The grinding and asphalt paving of the intersections will be completed at night (7:00 pm—6:00 am). The rest of the construction work will be completed during the daytime (7:00 am—4:00 pm).

July 5—August 1—concrete removal & ADA access ramp work (daytime work).

August 2, 3 & 4—Grinding the existing pavement at all three intersections (night work).

August 7—11 —Asphalt paving the College Street, Lilly Road, and Sleater-Kinney Road intersections (night work).

August 14—22—Complete remaining construction work

Potential Impacts
During grinding and paving night work, construction will affect traffic flow on Martin Way and access to some businesses in the area. Travel lanes will be restricted through the intersections and motorists should expect delays. Work on the access ramps will also affect people walking along this corridor. Traffic control & flaggers will direct vehicles and pedestrians through the work areas.
