Park Construction on the Isthmus

Isthmus Interim Park Improvements Project Begins

On Monday April 16, 2018, the City’s contractor Neptune Marine LLC will begin removal of concrete foundations left behind after the demolition of the former Thurston County buildings at 505 and 529 4th Avenue West in 2015. Following this foundation removal, the contractor will begin work on converting these areas to useable park space managed by Olympia Parks, Arts, and Recreation. The interim park improvements will remain in place until a long-range master plan is developed for these City owned properties.

Construction of the park space will last approximately two months. During this time, sidewalks adjacent to the project site will remain closed. Please observe all signs indicating alternate pedestrian routes along 4th and 5th Avenues.
