Traffic Restrictions in Downtown Olympia the Week of April 9

Three Mosaics to be Installed in City Sidewalks
During the week of April 9, workers will be installing mosaics for the Music Out Loud Public Art Project in three locations in downtown Olympia:

Washington St between 5th and Legion (in front of The Washington Center):

  • One lane (north bound) closed while working
  • 2 flaggers directing traffic
  • Sidewalk in front of The Washington Center will be closed

Chestnut and 4th (SE Corner):

  • No parking in the stalls on the Southside of 4th
  • Sidewalk closed (SE Corner)

5th and Capitol (NE Corner)

  • 5th Ave will have the one lane (west bound) closed while working
  • There will be 4 flaggers directing traffic, one at each corner
  • Sidewalk will be closed on the north side of the street between Capitol Way and Washington Street

The first day, work is expected from 7am - 5pm, during which time there will be some restrictions to traffic and some noise. Traffic control will be in place in each area as it is being worked on to minimize impact. On the second day, because of closed sidewalks between 7am and 12pm, pedestrian access will be restricted. Citizens are encouraged to use alternate routes to minimize traffic impacts and to obey all signs and flaggers.
