Land use planning is used to establish an orderly pattern of development with designated areas for residential, mixed-use, commercial and industrial development. Land use designations and densities need to be sufficient to accommodate Olympia’s share projected population growth. Urban design policies help shape the appearance of urban spaces so that they are attractive, vibrant and livable.
