The public safety element of the Comprehensive Plan is a way to help link Fire Services to the community.  Below are the current goals and the mission statement of the Olympia Fire Department.  The Comprehensive Plan is about ensuring that we move in the direction that meets the needs of our community. 

The BASIC SERVICE GOAL of the Fire Department is: 

To prepare our customers for, and provide assistance during, emergencies.  To protect life and property by preventing fires from occurring, confining fires to their area of origin, extinguishing fires and providing emergency medical service.

Mission of the Olympia Fire Department is to:

• Prevent Harm. . . To People and Property.
• Thrive. . . . . . . Organizationally and Personally.
• Be Nice. . . . . . Whenever We Can.

Vision & Values

The Department delivers its services to its external customers (citizens, property owners, other governmental agencies, and visitors) and internal customers (employees and volunteers) in manners consistent with the following values and mission of quality SERVICE delivery:
