Haunted Hike

Stream Team, City of Olympia and Capital High School Theatre Department present the Tale of the Disappearing Forest Haunted Hike.


 FREE, Family friendly event - Open to the Public

Event content appropriate for ages 6 and up

When: Saturday, October 20, 2012 from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m.

  • Hikes leave every 10 minutes
  • Hikes take about one hour, and are 1/2 mile in length
  • First Hike leaves at 3:30 p.m., the last hike leaves at 5:30 p.m.
  • Check in at the Rose Garden to sign in and get your hike time 
 Where: Priest Point Park, 2600 East Bay Drive NE
 Parking: Parking is allowed on East Bay Drive


 Trick or Treat so Kids Can Eat!

Bring canned goods for a student-led food drive for Thurston County Food Bank.

Tale of the Disappearing Forest2012 Haunted Hike at Priest Point Park

Do you dare to enter the disappearing forest?  The forest is disappearing and its denizens are dying. What could be behind this dire situation? Collect clues as you meet forest inhabitants and mysterious creatures along the 3/4 mile trail. Can you help save and protect this unique forest and all that depends on it? Or is it doomed to oblivion? 
Learn about Stream Team, wildlife, and forests and how we can help keep the forest from disappearing at this fun, engaging event brought to you by the City of Olympia, Stream Team and the Capital High School drama department.

Arrive early to secure a hike time.  Check in at the Rose Garden, get a hike time and then enjoy fun hands-on activities at “Water World”, including make and take crafts, while waiting for your hike to begin.Each hike is about 3/4 mile on rolling terrain and takes about one hour.  Capital High School students and Stream Team volunteers act out the story at stops along the loop trail. 

This is a family-friendly event is free and open to the public. Costumes are encouraged!

Enjoy “Water World” – fun games and activities while waiting for your hike time.

Note – the east side entrance into the park will be closed for this event.  Parking will be allowed in the bike lane on East Bay Drive for this special event.
