New information on Business & Occupation Tax Changes
According to Chapter 5.04 of the Olympia Municipal Code, "any person conducting business within the City shall make application to the Business License Section." This is in addition to any required State licenses.
The application form may be obtained at Olympia City Hall, or downloaded from this website. Applications and fees should be mailed to the City of Olympia address located at the top of the application.

Home-Based Business
If you are starting a home-based business within the City of Olympia , please review the Home Occupation Standards. Home Occupation Standards are found in the Olympia Municipal Code, Chapter 18.04.060(L).
A Business License Application containing a Home Occupation Acknowledgement must be signed and completed before the City of Olympia will issue a Business License. The Business License Application form with acknowledgement can be downloaded from the link above and printed, or obtained from the Business License Office.
