A new sprayground, upgrade to parking and restroom for ADA accessibility, asphalt pathways, and a picnic shelter will be constructed in 2018. The City was successful in receiving a $446,380 matching grant from the Washington State Recreation & Conservation Office (RCO) for this project. In 2017, three sprayground designs were presented and based on public feedback, Design C was voted the overall winner and will be installed. View Final Design (2MB PDF)

This westside park is named after Sam Woodruff who was born in China in 1858. He returned to Olympia and made his living as a printer and bookseller. Woodruff was one of our early developers and conveyed the Woodruff Park land to the City of Olympia in 1892 for $1.00.
