Funding for new 24/7 Shelter Options

The more time those experiencing homelessness can spend sheltered, the less they are subject to the indignities and dangers of living on the streets. To that end, the City is providing funding to two existing shelters so that they may move to 24/7 operations.

Community Youth Services (CYS) Rosie's Place

In addition to providing overnight shelter, Rosie’s Place will now open its doors to youth during the day.

The Salvation Army

In addition to increasing the number of overnight shelter beds, the Salvation Army will upgrade their building to provide a safe place for individuals during daytime hours.

Additional 24/7 Shelters

Union Gospel Mission offers a 24/7 shelter and is expanding its services to respond to the homelessness crisis. The Family support Center offers 24-hour shelter to families through its Pear Blossom Place facility.

Secure Storage

Two community partnerships will create much needed secure storage for the unsheltered population. The City has contracted with Union Gospel Mission to host the first secure storage site on their property. The Port of Olympia has donated and will fabricate the locked storage container. Users will have access twice a day, seven days a week.
