Reduce your trash, conserve natural resources, and save landfill space by bringing your yard waste, scrap metal and extra recycling to the Saturday Drop-Off Site. 


Open for the Season

The Saturday Drop-off Site opens for the 2013 season on Saturday, March 2, 2013. It is located at 1401 Eastside Street, SE, Olympia. The site is open every Saturday through November 23, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. We accept yard debris for a fee and scrap metal and recycling for free.

What We Take

Learn what we can and cannot accept

NEW! We are now recycling clean, dry plastic bags and film packing for free. 

For example:   Retail bags, newspaper bags, produce bags, bread bags, air pillows, drycleaning bags, napkin, paper towel, bathroom tissue and diaper bags, and case wrap (beverage cases).

Thurston County Waste and Recovery Center

You may take your material to the yard debris site at the Thurston County Waste & Recovery Center, located at 2418 Hogum Bay Road, Lacey. Call 360.786.5494 for more information.

Request A Temporary Container

Households and businesses can request a temporary drop box or dumpster (containers) for larger quantities of yard debris by calling 360.753.8368, and selecting option 2. Fees depend on the size of container and the number of times we empty it. Remember, temporary containers require a 2-day delivery notice.
