Conservation - Commercial

The City of Olympia works with our Commercial, Industrial, Governmental and Institutional customers to help them save water, and money too!  We offer several programs, including rebates for the installation of water saving technology, free high-efficiency toilets, and free irrigation assessments!
 

WaterSmart Technology:

Receive up to 75% funding for water-efficient upgrades!  Through a partnership with the LOTT Clean Water Alliance, we can offer our sewer customers this rebate on projects including replacement of water-cooled ice machines, high-efficiency dishwashers, urinals, faucets - anything that results in a decrease of wastewater flow and savings of water!  In 2011, this program resulted in the savings of approximately 5 million gallons of water for City of Olympia customers.  Download our printer-friendly:

High-Efficiency Toilet Programs:

Commercial:

In partnership with the LOTT Celan Water Alliance, we are offering FREE high-efficiency toilets (HETs) , including installation to eligible commercial sewer customers.  This is a great way to save water and potentially save money on your utility bills.  Eligible customers can choose between two different tank-style toilets and one flushometer toilet - whichever best meets their needs.

To apply for this program, please send us an email or call our Water Conservation Office at 360.753.8721.  A City representative or the program plumbing contractor will visit your site to confirm eligibility.  The plumbing contractor will then place the fixture order and arrange installation details.  On average, it takes up to 30 days from application to installation.

Multi-Family/Hotel:

In partnership with the LOTT Clean Water Alliance, we are offering FREE high-efficiency toilets (HETs) to eligible sewer customers. Unlike the commercial program, participants are responsible for installation and proper disposal of old fixtures.  Eligible customers can choose between two HET technologies (below).

Better-Than-Code Rebate Program:

Planning new construction or a remodel?  If you chose to install high-efficiency toilets or urinals that exceed current plumbing code requirements, you may eligible for a flat rebate on the fixtures you purchase.  Through a partnership with the LOTT Clean Water Alliance, we are offering a $100 rebate for qualifying toilets and a $125 rebate for qualifying urinals.  For more information or to determine eligibility, please send us an email or call our program office at 360.753.8271.  

 

Free Irrigation Assessments/Water-Efficient Irrigation:

Commercial customers, apartment complexes, homeowner's association and government offices that use higher-than-average amounts of water in the summer can receive free irrigation system assessments from the City of Olympia.  Assessments include a detailed inspection by an irrigation professional of your irrigation system and practices.

The auditor provides customers with an individualized report that includes recommendations on how to use water more efficiently while maintaining a healthy and beautiful landscape. Participants can also receive rebates for the purchase of water-efficient devices recommended by the auditor in their personalized report, such as updated irrigation system controllers or sprinkler heads.
