Police Reports

Requesting Police Reports

If you want a copy of an OPD police report, you will need to submit a public records request. You can submit your request online or in person at the OPD front desk during regular business hours.

When submitting the request, please try to provide as much information as possible about the report you are requesting, such as: the case number, date, time, address where the incident took place, names of people involved, or any other information that could help identify the report you're seeking.

Fees & Response Times

  • Paper copies (under 20 pages): Free
  • Paper copies (over 20 pages): $0.15 per page, payable at time of pick-up.
  • Electronic copies: Free, unless more than 80 files and/or over 1gb.

Please allow five (5) business days to receive a response to your request. You will be notified in writing if your request will take longer than five (5) business days to complete.

Accident/Collision Reports

Accident reports can be released immediately upon request provided the report has been completed. You can search for your accident report online or request it in person at the OPD front desk during regular business hours.

A victim of a crime can request confidentiality, which prevents the person's name or anything that would serve to identify him/her from being released to the public. Reports that are part of an on-going investigation are not releasable until the case they relate to is completed. Cases involving juveniles also have special rules that apply to their dissemination.
