In 2009, the West Olympia Community Visioning Group (CVG) and the City began exploring a partnership to purchase and develop a public plaza in West Olympia. The City purchased the Harrison Avenue Parcel in 2011. Although the park currently remains undeveloped, the City looks forward to continuing its valuable partnership with the CVG as it pursues future park development phases in the future.
A future trail development project will construct a one-mile paved bicycle/pedestrian trail from the Kaiser Road entrance in Grass Lake Nature Park through the Harrison Avenue Parcel to Harrison Avenue. Complete project funding has not yet been secured.
