How To request a hearing:
-
Check the appropriate hearing type on the back of the citation and sign.
-
Print your full name and mailing address on the ticket envelope (or an attached note).
-
Return to the Olympia Municipal Court within 15 days of the issuance date of the ticket
You will be notified by mail of your hearing date and time. Failure to appear at your scheduled hearing will result in a doubling of the original fine amount.
Hearings By MailIn lieu of an in-person appearance at a hearing, you may request a Mitigation or Contested by Mail hearing. To do so you will need either the Mitigation by Mail form or the Contested by Mail form. Request either form by emailing parkingservices@ci.olympia.wa.us. Please include your ticket number and/or license plate number in the email. The form needs to be filled out completely and returned to Court Services within 15 days of issuance date. Also, check the appropriate hearing type on the back of the ticket, sign it, and attach the signed ticket to the form. On the form you will explain your circumstances – you may attach any additional documents to support your circumstances. The form will be reviewed by the Judge and a decision will be made. You will be mailed a copy of the Judge’s decision with a date to return payment if any fines are due. Understand the Court’s decision is final and there shall be no reconsideration or appeal from a decision on a written statement.
