Boot and Tow Program

8 or more unpaid tickets will result in a vehicle being booted

I received a boot & tow notice – what does it mean?

Vehicles that have 8 or more unpaid tickets over 60 days past due will receive a notice that if they do not pay their outstanding fines within 10 days, their vehicle may be booted.

What if my vehicle is booted?

A boot is an immobilization device placed on a vehicle’s tire to prevent the vehicle from being driven. If your vehicle is booted, contact Grimm Collections at 360.754.6333 within 2 business days to pay the full amount due. If full payment is not made within 2 business days the vehicle will be towed.

Can I drive my vehicle anyway?

Attempting to drive with the boot can severely damage your vehicle.  You are liable for any damage to the boot caused by driving, removal or other form of tampering.

Are there fees involved with booting?

Yes. There is a $25 administrative fee and a $50 boot fee. All fees and outstanding parking tickets must be paid within 2 business days of booting for removal of the boot otherwise the vehicle is towed.

How do I get the boot off?

If your vehicle is booted you must pay all City of Olympia parking fines owed with Grimm Collections within two business days of being booted, then pay the booting fees at Olympia Municipal Court. When payment is made within two business days, Court Services will alert a Parking Services Field Representative to remove the boot from your vehicle. Do not attempt to remove the boot yourself.

Towing information

Vehicles that have 12 or more unpaid tickets over 60 days past due will receive a notice that if they do not pay their outstanding fines within 10 days, their vehicle may be towed.
