Neighborhood Block Parties

Neighborhood Associations that are registered with the City may request street closure for up to two block parties per year for a neighborhood picnic or other neighborhood-only social gathering at no cost.

Non-registered associations or smaller neighborhood areas may also be eligible for street closure for neighborhood-only social gatherings.

Attendance at block parties must be llimited to neighborhood residents and their families.

The City of Olympia may provide cones and/or barricades for the street closure. The City reserves the right to approve which street may be closed and the placement of barricades, tables and other items in the street. When planning the layout for your event, please consider how emergency vehicles would travel the street, if needed.

To request street closure for a neighborhood only block party, email this form to Jennifer Kenny, City of Olympia Neighborhood Planner, jkenny@ci.olympia.wa.us. Jennifer's phone number is 360.753.8031.
