We are partnering with the United Way of Thurston Co. to celebrate Day of caring and public lands with a free and fun volunteer event! LBA Park needs your help with environmental restoration....specifically Scotch broom removal! As with all volunteer work parties, please dress for weather, wear full-length pants and sturdy shoes. Join staff and stewards as we cut back the encroaching vegetation along the lovely walking trail. Park along the street on 6th Ave. NW. Meet near on the north side of the intersection of 6th Ave NW. and Craftsman Dr. NW. Directional signs will be posted.
Priest Point Park - Saturday, October 6 - 10:00am-1:00pm
Help us continue our restoration efforts in this amazing park. Today's work party will focus on removing English ivy to prepare for planting wonderful native plants this winter. The park is located at 2600 East Bay Dr. NE. Meet near the Mission Creek Estuary Trail, just south of the playground. Plenty of parking available.

Have you seen this park since the amazing new playground went in? Now is your chance. Join stewards and staff as we pull English holly and other invasive plant species. The park is located at 3111 21st Ave SE. Street parking available.

Need to get your steps in? Then join us for a gravelling work party! The park is located at 2500 Henderson Blvd. SE. A small parking lot is available for parking. The meeting spot is just down the trail from the trailhead, at the first intersection.
Trillium Park - Wednesday, October 17 - 9:30am-12:00pm & Saturday, October 20 - 10:00am-1:00pm
This wonderful pocket park needs your help! We will be deconstructing a social trail and planting native vegetation. Street parking is available one block away on Quince St. SE. The park is located at 901 Eskridge Blvd. SE. Meet at the trailhead.

Springwood Parcel (formally Zabel's Rhododendron Garden) - Saturday, October 27 - 10:00am-1:00pm
Like digging in the dirt? This work party is for you. We will focus on removing the little "volunteer" seedlings that have popped up in this lovely parcel. The plants removed will be planted at Priest Point Park this winter. The parcel is located at 1500 Springwood Ave NE, but PARKING IS ONLY ALLOWED ON DEVON DR. NE. After parking, follow the signs to the entrance to the parcel. Meet just inside the gate.
Yashiro Japanese Garden - Wednesday, October 31 - 9:30am-12:00pm
All treats and no tricks today! The leaves are falling, so this work party will focus on weeding and raking this hidden downtown park. Since this work party falls on Halloween, feel free to dress in your favorite costume you don't mind dirtying! The park is located at 1010 Plum St. SE. Meet at the side entrance to the park. Parking is available at the Lee Creighton Justice Center, 900 Plum St. SE.
Northeast Neighborhood Connection Trail Grant Project
Thanks to a generous grant from REI Co-op, we have contracted with the Washington Trails Association (WTA) to bring a much needed trail to the southeast part of Priest Point Park. WTA hosts volunteer work parties lead by trail experts on select Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays beginning in October. For more information visit wta.org/volunteer.
