Park History

This parcel was purchased to be a future neighborhood park to serve Northwest Olympia. An Interim Use and Management Plan was implemented in 2007.

The Park was officially named Burri Park on January 13, 2009. This is in recognition of Jim Burri, who founded the Burbank Neighborhood Association (where the park is located) and served as president for many years. Mr. Burri was an active supporter of two Olympia park bond measures in the early 90s and helped select several neighborhood park sites including this one that now bears his name. Mr. Burri also served as president of the Olympia Library Board.
