Shoreline Master Program News

The Olympia City Council is currently working with City staff to review and update Olympia's Shoreline Master Program. The Council is considering the Planning Commission's recommendation, the staff initial recommendation, and the latest recommendation as well as the Council discussion draft for which the Council also sought public comment. The Council may also consider adopting different portions from these various alternatives or an alternative that is within this range of alternatives.

The Council held a public hearing on proposed amendments to the Shoreline Master Program on Tuesday, January 22, 2013. Written statements were submitted to the Olympia Community Planning and Development Department by 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2013. View the links below to read comments from individuals and organizations relating to the SMP.

The Cumulative Impacts Assessment report assesses the cumulative impacts of development in the shoreline that would result from development and activities over time under the provisions contained in the Draft Shoreline Master Program update dated January 22, 2013.
