Clean Clothes

The Olympia City Council adopted Resolution M-1545 on June 9, 2004 , establishing guidelines for the purchase of clothing for City employees from responsible and ethical manufacturers who operate in accord with established international codes of corporate conduct and applicable laws regarding working conditions and human rights. "Clean Clothes" manufacturers must be free of sweatshop working conditions and offer items at a competitive price.

All bids, quotes and proposals for the purchase of t-shirts, sweatshirts, and baseball caps by the City of Olympia must be accompanied by a completed Manufacturing Facilities Questionnaire.
