Jessica Bateman, City Councilmember

Bio

Jessica BatemanJessica Bateman was elected to a four year term at Position #2 in November 2015. Her term ends December 31, 2019.

Jessica has over eight years of experience in the public and non-profit sector working in public policy, planning and legislative affairs. In her personal and professional experience, she has consistently partnered with diverse stakeholders and community members to advocate on behalf of issues of the public interest. Jessica served as a legislative aide in the Washington State House of Representatives for three years advocating for the citizens of the 22nd legislative district. She now works as the Community Impact Director for the United Way of Thurston County.

Before being elected to City Council she served on the Olympia Planning Commission and the board of GRuB a local nonprofit empowering at risk youth and low-income families. Jessica graduated from The Evergreen State College with an undergraduate degree in Environmental Studies and graduate degree in Public Administration. She loves hiking and lives in the Northeast neighborhood of Olympia.
