Olympia Planning Commission

The Olympia Planning Commission was formed in 1935 to advise the City Council on the long range growth and development of Olympia, including changes to the City's Comprehensive Plan and zoning ordinance.

Membership Criteria
Eleven (11) members, of which a majority must be residents of the City of Olympia or Olympia's Urban Growth Area.

Meeting Date, Time, Place
1st and 3rd Mondays most months. Meetings start at 6:30 p.m. and are held at the Olympia City Council Chambers, 900 Plum Street SE, unless otherwise noticed. Check the online City of Olympia calendar for dates, times and locations.

This Commission has a heavy workload with significant advance reading and meeting preparation. The Commission also has subcommittees, and Planning Commissioners serve as liaisons to several other City advisory committees.

The Planning Commission conducts public hearings and other forums throughout the year to seek public input on items before the Commission for consideration.
