Crime Map Updates

View last week's map of Part 1 (serious felony) crimes and vehicle prowls. Click on icons for more detail.

Notable Trends

  • Vehicle prowls continue to flourish, but are not as concentrated in specific areas. Officers have been focusing on conducting field interviews in neighborhoods on the east side of town, which was heavily affected by vehicle prowlers in previous weeks. They've arrested two people with warrants and are using other investigative tools.
  • The Pizza Time downtown has been robbed twice recently. Read more here and be sure to let us (or Crime Stoppers) know if you have any information that would help solve these crimes.

Other Items

  • OlyPD officers will be participating in Party Intervention Patrols the next two weekends to help prevent the consequences of underage drinking. According to the last Healthy Youth Survey, about 40% of high school seniors reported drinking alcohol in the past 30 days.
  • One of our own was called by these scamsters recently. He didn't fall for it, but warns they are pretty convincing.
  • Safe Kids Thurston County is coordinating a firearms safety event at Cabela's on November 1st. One of our volunteers will be a featured speaker, sharing his personal story.
  • Can you believe it's almost the end of October? This week and next I'll share some tips for a safe (but still spooky) Halloween.

Thanks, Amy
